Christmas at the Chalet

I want to go to there.

Lex is a recently-divorced former TV host enticed to go “Aspen” for Christmas to be with her son. Also there, her ex-husband and his new (much younger) girlfriend. And, of course, the single innkeeper.

Now, this is a W Network movie. As in, it isn’t in the massive pile of holiday flicks that Hallmark pumps out, and totally seems like there is a better budget behind this one.

Teri Hatcher is great in this - you can tell that she’s a seasoned pro who knows how to play the quintessential rom-com protagonist. And the location (Big White in Kelowna, apparently), in particular the log cabin lodge is amazing. Truly might need to go there to check it out for real.

The only lock against this movie is that isn’t not really a Christmas movie. Rather, it falls firmly into the camp of movies that take place at Christmastime but don’t really have any festive elements beyond set decorating.

Regardless though - thoroughly enjoyed this one.

You’ll like this if…

You liked Falling for Christmas on Netflix last year. Christmas at the Chalet is of a similar oeuvre, though less Christmas/centric.

SCORE: 8/10
