The Christmas Charade

A Christmas Caper

Le sigh.

Once more, just because a movie takes place at Christmastime does not mean it is a “Christmas movie.”

Anyhoo… Whitney is a risk-averse librarian living her life vicariously through caper movies. Josh is an FBI agent with a hunch about the next big hit - someone is going to steal the “Heart of Christmas” necklace - a priceless bauble that only comes out for one night a year.

A case of mistaken identity results in this deputized librarian becoming a pseudo agent, aiding in the sting to bust the inevitable theft. A surprise assist comes from her parents who, unbeknownst to Whitney, were themselves former agents in her youth. So I guess Josh has an in with the in-laws.

Filmed in Canada, with some decent Christmas decor throughout, and props to Hallmark for taking a swing with something different/bigger than their standard movie of the week. A decent watch, but not a Christmas movie.

You’ll like this if…

You appreciate Hallmark movies that don’t follow a standard setup. Bonus points for being entertaining.
