A Tale of Two Christmases
Christmas Sliding Doors
This movie just about falls into the meme about Hallmark Christmas movies but in reverse, where the woman leaves her small town and men clad in flannel behind her to live happily ever after in a big city, wearing pencil skirts and stilettos.
Scenario 1: Emma returns home to her family and teenage love (with whom she is obviously and absolutely madly in love), and turns her big city architectural skills to the local lodge that “needs to be fixed up,” despite looking brand spanking new.
Scenario 2: Emma stays in the city and has a full rom-com day where she falls for a local who seems infatuated with her and she with him (except when the old love calls).
Psych!
Scenario 1 was a dream coming on the heels of Scenario 2. The timing didn’t really work; but whatever.
Honestly, I feel like there was no bad option in this movie. Not really a “Christmas movie” per se, but Chandler Massey is always good so bonus point for that.
SCORE: 4/10
