Christmas For Keeps
Jenna Rink returns!
Christa B. Allen, aka Young Jennifer Garner (see 13 Going on 30 and Ghosts of Girlsfriends Past) stars in this semi-ensemble with waaaay too many storylines for a 90-minute TV movie.
Avery is trying to prepare herself to launch a therapy practice.
Ben, Avery’s teenage love, is still reeling from the grief of losing his parents.
Noah & Sarah are high school sweethearts-turned-busy parents balancing 101 competing priorities while she’s in medical residency while he desperately tries to contain his desire to be a cookier.
Mia is a struggling actress who is lying to herself and het friends about where her interest (and talent) really lies.
The friends come together to memorialize their high school drama teacher who directed them in the annual production of A Christmas Carol a decade earlier.
It’s all wrapped up in a Hallmark bow when high school sweethearts Avery and Ben declare their enduring love for each other after he states his intention to move to Michigan to be with her. Michigan. In the words of Oda Mae Brown, “you in danger, girl.”
Christmas is in the title, but really this movie doesn’t have much to do with Christmas overall, despite the good set dressing.
SCORE: 3/10
