Happiest Season
Harper is the worst.
Thoughts? Anyone disagree? Ok, now that no one has voiced any opposition to that point, moving on.
Lesbian couple Harper and Abby go home to join Harper’s family for Christmas. Except her parents don’t know she’s in a relationship with Abby, so they agree to pretend to be straight roommates so as to avoid derailing Harper’s father’s mayoral campaign.
This movie is a family dramedy with a stacked cast and great characters, in particular the voice of reason, Dan Levy, and Aubrey Plaza as Harper’s secret ex-girlfriend. Kristen Stewart is excellent as Abby, dealing with Harper’s shit at every turn. Even if I do think she gives Harper WAY too much space and time.
I don’t want to spoil it by giving away too much of the plot. But let me just say - I want a sequel with Abby and Riley.
You’ll enjoy this if… you like other family dramediea like The Family Stone and Single All The Way.
