Annual budget-breaker movie shot on location in London.
A decent movie that doesn’t hit all the Hallmark Chris tropes, but has a lot going for it.
David is an architect dating his boss’ daughter (is there any scenario in which this ends well?) and needs help from Angie, a “gift whisperer,” to help find his girlfriend the perfect Christmas gift, which is resoundingly said to be anything but a gift card. Apparently a gift whisperer is basically a personal shopper with a slightly fancier name.
Lite attempts at physical comedy, including an awkward costumed relay race as part of a running-from-the-cops sequence. Strong Pretty Woman energy in spots.
