Merry & bright! An excellent family movie.
How have I been sleeping on this Christmas gem?!?
Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader are often excellent, and this movie is no exception.
I won’t grade it on the Hallmark movie scoring rubric because that would be unfair. It doesn’t follow a lot of the romance-focused movie tropes, nor is it trying to be a classic Christmas movie (like Elf).
The screenwriter also wrote Miss Congeniality, an underrated movie in its own right, to give you a sense of the levity in this one.
Really enjoyed watching this with my 7 year old - super family friendly for everyone. Highly recommend - available on Disney +.
