Single All The Way

Christmas Comedy Cast Miracle

  • OMG this casting! No duds, something (someone) for everyone.

  • Hilarious one-liners!

  • LGBTQ couple at the centre of the plot, and with a super supportive family (no hidden or partially hidden anti-gay agendas). Yay for another Christmas movie that isn’t exclusively WASPy heteros or token diversity in the cast/plot!

  • It’s a great telling of the standard “best friends who realize that they’re in love with each other,” trope.

  • The mom, Carole, only answers to the name “Christmas Carole” during the holidays - can I change my name just for the holidays to do something similar? I’ll be looking into that

Hap-Hap-Happiest Scene:

  • Choreographed dance sequence between a guncle and his nieces.

  • Jennifer Coolidge dressed up as Glinda from Wicked to narrate the nativity play

Wait! Why do I recognize that person?

  • Michael Urie (Ugly Betty

  • Luke Macfarlane (Brothers & Sisters)

  • Jennifer Robertson (Schitt’s Creek)

  • Kathy Najimy (Sister Act 1 & 2, Hocus Pocus, Veronica’s Closet

  • Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie! Legally Blonde!

  • Seriously - a great cast of old and newer pros

SCORE: 8/10
