My Christmas Family Tree

What if your dad was your dad, but then he wasn’t… or was he?

  • Young woman is connected with her long-lost father via ancestry-DNA website. But is it him?

  • Father(?) and daughter(?) refer to her mother by different names and yet this raises zero red flags until more of these instances happen and only then do they think that maybe they aren’t related after all?

  • No wait, they ARE father & daughter after all! And all it took was a photo of her deceased mother (in remarkable quality for something 30+ years old… shout-out to Kodak!) and somehow the DNA company’s inability to manage their core customer database is forgotten.

  • Christmas Vacation homage with the outdoor decorations, complete with family gathered around for dramatic connecting of power cables to light it all up. and The Family Stone homage at the end. Love it.

  • 🍿Popcorn garland on the 🎄 . Is this an American thing? I’ve never met anyone who does this IRL. And seriously, if you had a dog there is no way it survives. If this had a movie (vs TV movie) budget there 100% would have been a scene with the dog eating the popcorn off the tree.

Hap-Hap-Happiest Scene:

  • The set decorating in the family’s home is excellent! And I love a good Christmas Vacation homage with a dad who goes ALL OUT on the Christmas decor inside and out.

Wait! Why do I recognize that person?

  • Return of Hallstar Andrew Walker - last seen in Merry & Bright

SCORE: 7/10
