Christmas Road Trip For Love
This movie has a long title (as these things go), and honestly, deservedly so because there are multiple storylines here:
Frank, old widow looking to reconnect with his first love
Claire, the first love who doesn’t want her heart broken again (50+ years later)
Megan, Frank’s much younger friend and road trip driver who helps him reconnect with Claire, who herself is having an early midlife crisis trying to determine what she’s going to do with her own life
Steve, corporate type who has randomly bought a mountain inn as a midlife crisis/side hustle/way to reconnect with his childhood, and falls in love with Megan in like, 3 days
Relatively original storyline for this Hallmark movie, which could easily be set at any time of year so isn’t overly Christmassy
Genuinely love a diverse cast and not just in the supporting roles
Wait! Why do I recognize that person?
Niall Matter (Steve), previously seen this season in Christmas at Dollywood, and the lead in last year’s Never Kiss A Man in a Christmas Sweater (still have that on my watchlist)
Harry Lennix (Frank) has a crazy long film resume including 179 episodes of The Blacklist, some DC comic book movies. His Hallmark credits almost seem like the lighthearted filler.
