Second consecutive return of the 90s stars with Candice Cameron Bure aka Hallmark’s Reese Witherspoon in a story about two exes (Lara & Ben) who compete in holiday events to win money that would go towards the charity of their choice.
She’s a business exec and he’s a former pro athlete. Anyone else think this is maybe art imitating life for CCB and Valeri? Did they split and then reconcile over Christmas crafts and baking? Is this the c-list celebrity exposé that we need?
Unlike most of these Hallmark movies, the two main characters are aware that they’re falling for each other (again), rather than it being a Christmas epiphany in the final act.
Hap-Hap-Happiest Scene:
John Brotherton (Ben) is really convincing as a cringy former pro athlete who now hocks beef jerky on TV. Feel like this is what A-Rod would have been stuck doing if J Lo hadn’t done her thing for him
Wait! Why do I recognize that person?
John Brotherton is also apparently on Fuller House with CCB. I definitely would never have known that without the power of Google.
