Does this take place at Christmas? Yes.
Is it a Christmas movie? Not really…
The story flips back and forth between present day and a decade prior, as Dave and Nell recount the story of how they met to Chris, the boyfriend of Dave’s daughter, Jo.
Other than the initial meeting and subsequent story both taking place at Christmastime, there isn’t really much else that makes this a Christmas movie per se. Some of the usual tropes, but overall it’s just a sweet story of how two adults met and fell in love, providing lessons to the next generation.
