Inventing The Christmas Prince
When you make up a Christmas story and then have to follow through on it…
Shelby is a literal rocket scientist, and was widowed and left to raise her daughter solo. Her boss is the ultimate Scrooge with zero personality nor any social skills period but who ends up playing the Christmas Prince her daughter imagines him to be.
The rocket scientist part is the high point of this movie. I really find it hard to reconcile her turning down her dream job in favour of staying in the small town (that somehow houses Mission Control) after falling for the boss, the faux Christmas Prince. I guess in every one of these movies the Scrooge character is reformed, but he comes across like such a dud the whole movie, it’s hard to buy the transformation.
